A Fun & Hands-On Cooking Experience for Kids at get toasted.
What happens when you give your child the chance to take the lead in the kitchen? In our case, it meant pizza, dessert, a little mess, and a very proud kid! 🍕🎃
My son recently had the chance to attend a kids' cooking class at get toasted. in Riverbank, and it was such a fun experience to watch him learn, create, and do so much of the cooking himself.
A Cooking Class Where Kids Get to Do the Work
One of my favorite things about this experience was that the kids weren't simply watching someone cook. They actually got to participate.
My son made a pumpkin-shaped pepperoni pizza and a pumpkin patch dirt cup, and he was able to work through the different steps himself with guidance from the instructor.
For kids who love cooking, or even kids who are just curious about being in the kitchen-this is a great opportunity to let them try something new in a fun environment.
And as a mom, I loved seeing the independence that came with it. Sometimes kids surprise us with what they can do when we're willing to let them take the lead!
And Yes... They Get to Eat What They Make!

Of course, the best part for my little chef was getting to taste his creations at the end-and getting to keep his apron!
After all that cooking, he was definitely ready to try his pizza!
Seeing how excited he was about what he had made was probably my favorite part of the whole experience.
Why I Recommend It
I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye out for get toasted.'s upcoming kids' cooking classes. Classes can fill up quickly, so if your child is interested, you'll want to watch for the next one.
It's a fun way for kids to:
- Try something new
- Practice following directions
- Build confidence in the kitchen
- Work independently while having guidance nearby
- Make something they can be proud of
- And, of course, enjoy a tasty treat afterward!
Whether your child already loves cooking or you're looking for a new hands-on activity, this is one I'd definitely put on your list.
